A mother, author and inventor, meet Angel Chadwick…

JR: Tell us about yourself, and how would you describe yourself?

AC: Hi, my name’s Angel Chadwick. I’m a mom of a ten year old boy who is autistic/nonverbal and making steady and exceptional progress everyday, an author and inventor. I also have my own publishing imprints which I will be using in the near future. I have traveled the all over world. This is includes Quebec, Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Niagara Falls, NY, New York, Erie, Pennsylvania, Hershey, Pennsylvania, Hot Springs, Arkansas, Atlanta, Georgia, Columbus, Georgia to name some all while I was between the ages of 17-19 years old. I want to do more traveling in the near future, particularly to other countries.

JR: When did you first realise you want to be a writer? Who spotted that talent and what was the first thing you do knowing that?

AC: My junior high school teacher who encouraged me to keep writing after I wrote a short story for an English assignment, which I got an A+ on.  I’ve been writing since I was 13 years old. So about 27 years now.

JR: Do you have any formal education in creative writing? Do you think formal education in writing is necessary?

AC: I don’t think formal education in writing is necessary.  It’s not going to guarantee success or sales. Readers read whatever they want to read. I don’t think overall they care about the writer having a formal education in it when they choose a book to read or when they read that author’s books. I have a college background in Advertising/Marketing, Business, Computer Science, Psychology, Literature, English, Journalism to name some.

JR: Do you have habits in writing? Any specific time and/or place to write?

AC: I don’t really have any habits. I write mostly sitting in my living room but I can do that just about anywhere. There’s no specific time. I write everyday no matter how much or how little time I have.

JR: How long do you normally finish writing a book? What is the hardest part in the process?

AC: I finish when it’s finished. When I no longer have to do anything major/critical to it. The hardest part is wanting to be finished with the story I’m writing and realizing there’s more I have to do to get things in the right condition. My perfectionist side always kicks in. But eventually I have to release the book to the reading public. Nobody’s perfect. But there’s always room to improve.

Weeping Well JR: Do you ever face Writer’s Block? If you do, how did you overcome the situation?

AC: There’s no overcoming writer’s block. Sometimes the reason for writer’s block is because the author may be busy with other things whether it’s home life, work, family, etc. To deal with it is to strategize, work around your schedule, take a vacation. But always write even if it’s to say “I’ve written nothing today.” Sometimes the author could be burnt out. I know I feel that way at times.  But I take time and write through it a little at a time, or other things like spending time with my family, mentoring other aspiring and upcoming authors. But inspiration never leaves me. So I wouldn’t say I’ve ever had writer’s block. Burn-out yes, writer’s block, no because I always have something to write about.

JR: How many books have you written (published and unpublished)?

AC: Writing my third book. I have 801 books yet to be published.

JR: What genre that you normally write, and what draws you to this genre? Do you always write in the same genre?

AC: I always mix genres. So no I never write in the same genre. I write in a mixture of all genres, except erotica.

JR: Any other works in progress?

AC: I always have several works in progress. I have two more books I’m writing for my Weeping Well series, I have another trilogy series I’m writing, several plays, several cozy mysteries series, to name  a few.

JR: How can readers discover more about you and your works?
